- Raxawa Tea Factory
- Built in 1934 by the Irish.
- The first planter was Mr.G.J. Pickthall
- Raxawa tea plantation is about 250 hectares of Tea & Spices, with a labour force of more than 500 workers.
- Raxawa Tea Factory was the first factory in Sri Lanka to produce green tea by Japanese in 1972. All the machinery was brought from Japan and manufactured Green Tea.
- Currently this factory is a modern state of the art tea factory, one of the best in Sri Lanka. Surrounded by tea plantations , Knuckles Range mountains and beautiful waterfalls.
- Currently producing more than one million Kilograms of Black Tea for a year, for the last 5 consecutive years.
- This factory is fully automated with all the latest machinery.
- Average crop for a day is 18000-20000 kgs of green leaf.
- Producing orthodox leafty grades and tea bag types of black teas.
- ISO 22000 certified.
